Asset - An asset is a Block, File, Folder, Page, Format, Link, or Template.

Asset Factory - Asset Factories can be used to create assets from scratch or be based on an existing pre-configured base asset.

Block - A Block is a 'pluggable' piece of content that can be easily substituted into any page region. A single block can be reused on an unlimited amount of page regions. This allows for one piece of content to be reused multiple times. 

Configuration Set - A collection of one or more outputs that can be used to create one or more pages.

Connectors - Connections to third-party applications including WordPress, Google Analytics, and Spectate.

Content Types - Formally aggregates Configuration Sets, Metadata Sets, and Data Definitions into a single component that can be applied to pages.

Data Definitions - A Data Definition is a collection of XML data that describes how a certain set of data is structured. Data definitions are used by Cascade Server to generate form-based input fields for the creation and editing of page content.

Destination - A Destination defines the link between Site content and the location to which site content can be published. A Destination is associated with a single Transport that defines the protocol and location of a remote server to use when publishing content.

Group - One or more users with common permissions.

Metadata - Metadata is data within the WCMS that describes an Asset.

Metadata Set - A system component that provides the interface for customizing and managing the two types of metadata fields, wired and dynamic, that can be visible and/or associated with an asset.

Output - A component of a Page asset defining how a Page is rendered (e.g. HTML, Text Only, XML).

Publish Set - A Publish Set is a group of publishable assets that is to be published. Publish Sets can be used as part of workflows or with external feeds. Publish Sets are disabled by default. Request the use of Publish Sets by emailing Web Services Support (sct2@iu.edu).

Role - Determines the abilities and permissions of a User or Group.

Transport - A Transport represents a server to which content can be published. Transports can be used by one or more Destinations.

User - One who uses the Web Content Management System.
